1. Georgia Bulldogs (11-0) *SEC Favorites* certain opponent: Alabama

Georgia is cruising into the SEC Championship. They and Bama have clinched their appearances.

2. Ohio State Buckeyes (10-1) *Big Ten Favorites* likely opponent: Wisconsin/Iowa

All you can say about the Buckeyes right now is WOW. Michigan might be in big trouble.

3. Cincinnati Bearcats (11-0) *AAC Favorites* likely opponent: Houston

That is the statement win Cincy needed. With a win over ECU, a win over Houston in the AAC championship, and a Georgia win over Bama, they are almost a lock for the playoff.

4. Alabama Crimson Tide (10-1) *SEC West Favorites* Likely Opponent: Georgia

I’m not going to sit here and say Bama isn’t a very good team, but I don’t think they will beat Georgia.

5. Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-1) *Big 12 Favorites* Likely Opponent: Baylor

The Cowboys will have to go through Oklahoma and Baylor to become Big 12 champs, but they certainly look to part right now.

6. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-1)

Notre Dame is playing good ball right now, but they need some help to get in.

7. Baylor Bears (9-2) *Big 12 Contender* Likely Opponent: Oklahoma

Another nice win for Baylor. A win over Texas Tech and an OKST win over Oklahoma would put them in the Big 12 Championship. But let’s be clear, it is highly unlikely that Baylor gets in the playoff.

8. Oklahoma Sooners (10-1) *Big 12 Contender* Likely Opponent: Baylor

Oklahoma still has an outside chance of making the playoff by beating the Cowboys twice, but I don’t see it happening.

The Cougars are a tough, battle-tested team, and I expect no hiccups in the Coliseum.

14. Wisconsin Badgers (8-3) *Big Ten Contender* Likely Opponent: Ohio State/Michigan

Wisconsin guts one out at home against one of the more scrappy teams in the B1G. Minnesota on the road will be a challenge for old Bucky Badger, who Notre Dame is fervently rooting for.

Utah takes over the talk of the PAC-12 with a blowout win.

A&M will be challenged this week in the Bayou.

Is this the day Nebraska finally finishes a team? I’m going with yes.

This is not a good look for the Ducks, who already hold a very bad loss to Cal. Oregon State could win the Civil War in Eugene.

19. Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (10-1) *Sun Belt Favorites* Certain Opponent: App State

Wow the Cajuns look good. They have really turned it around from that week 1 loss to the now struggling Texas Longhorns. Louisiana has locked in a Sun Belt title fight with App State, who will look to avenge a 41-13 regular season win by the Cajuns.

20. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (9-2) *ACC Contender* Likely Opponent: Pitt/NC State

Wake’s ACC title hopes still remain alive, but even so Clemson will have something to say about the “champs.” The ACC is now completely out of the playoff conversation.

21. Michigan State Spartans (9-2)

Simply put, Sparty got exposed. Will Prnn State come in and take their cookies on what looked like a great season? Quite possibly.

22. UTSA Roadrunners (11-0) *C-USA Favorite*

UTSA was less than dominant. Their best win is against Illinois. Is UTSA going to get exposed by a power 5 team in a bowl game? It is looking likely.

23. NC State Wolfpack (8-3) *ACC Contender* Likely Opponent: Clemson/Wake Forest

A nice win for the Wolfpack this week. But with Clemson beating Wake, the Clemson win now looks not as good, and the Wake loss looks worse. On the UNC game, this is a huge game for both programs and I could see it going either way.

Houston is waltzing into the big title game against Cincy.

25. San Diego State Aztecs (10-1) *MW Favorites* Likely Opponent: Utah State

So the Aztecs grit out another. But Boise has been upset U this season, and is playing very well of late. I’m going with the Broncos.
